Will the real League champions please stand up?

The 'Money Centre' Stars who finished top of the 2007 Premier League standings will get their chance to avenge the Rye House Rockets who, even after finishing fourth in the league standings, managed to collect the title after winning the end of season playoffs. "It was a hard pill to swallow" said Rob Lyon, "we worked hard all season long to proudly sit at the top of the table but then to get knocked out in the semi-finals seemed unjust".

You have to feel for the man and the team who will no doubt be out to prove to the Rockets who the real champions are. Buster Chapman believes the other trophies they collected last season help prove who the best team were. "Winning the KO Cup for the third successive season and the Premier Trophy for the second successive season helped soften the blow, the main thing is the fans know who are the real champions. I even asked Len Silver for the trophy back at the end of the season - after he laughed at my request I hope we can now collect it back off him the fair way at the end of the season."

The Stars have had bad luck over the Easter period with three out of three meetings cancelled due to the bad weather. Co-promoter Jonathan Chapman is hoping for bluer skies this coming Wednesday though "the riders were really excited about getting some more points under their belts so it was a great shame the meetings were called off. What it does mean though is they are all hungry for a big win on Wednesday, I just hope Rye House are ready for us because the team is brimming with confidence."

The Stars' bid to reach 100 straight league, trophy and KO Cup home wins in succession is still on course after their victory against Mildenhall last week. They now stand on 97 , and a win against Rye House will push them up to 98. The rained off matches against Birmingham have now been rescheduled - the home leg will now be at the Norfolk Arena on Friday April 11th and the away leg will be at Perry Bar on Sunday April 27th.
